Subcontractor check by business ID
Run a subcontractor check before you sign: enter the business ID (Y-tunnus). We read the company straight from the Finnish Patent and Registration Office's open data and tell you in plain language what looks fine and what to ask about before you sign.
The check does not replace the documents the Contractor's Liability Act requires, but in thirty seconds it tells you whether it is worth asking for them. Your browser asks PRH directly — we store nothing.

Frequently asked
What does the check show?
The company name and former names, legal form, main line of business, registration date, and whether it is in the prepayment register, the employer register and the VAT register. It also shows whether the company has left a register before, and any bankruptcy, restructuring or liquidation.
Is this enough for the Contractor's Liability Act?
No. The Act requires, among other things, certificates of paid taxes and pension contributions (or a payment plan), the collective agreement applied, how occupational health care is arranged and, in construction, accident insurance. Register data is only part of it. The quick check tells you whether to continue.
Why does the prepayment register matter so much?
If you pay for work to a company that is not in the prepayment register, you must withhold tax and report it to the Tax Administration — 13 % from a company, and from a sole trader by their tax card, or 60 % without one. Companies are usually removed for neglecting taxes or filings, so an earlier removal is worth asking about too.
How do I check tax debts?
The Tax Administration's public tax debt register shows tax debts over €10,000 by business ID. The link is below the results.
Do you store the business IDs I search?
No. The request goes from your browser straight to PRH's open interface and never passes through our server.

Qypärä collects site hours by phone, works out overtime and pay under the collective agreement and invoices the client — with the same rules these tools use.
